The following transport services are available to Kangaroo Island, please note during COVID seats are limited and schedules subject to change and we recommend you book as soon as possible.
By Ferry
Sealink Ferry & Shuttle Service operates ferries to and from Kangaroo Island, running between Cape Jervis (on the Fleurieu Peninsula) and Penneshaw. There are three ferries that run daily, while others operate depending on season. The ferry ride is a 45-minute journey across the Backstairs Passage to the islands second biggest town, Pennshaw.
Ferries can accommodate both passengers and vehicles with a maximum length of four metres. If you are bringing your vehicle, pre-booking is recommended. Passengers travelling without a vehicle can make use of Kangaroo Island Sealink’s shuttle service. Shuttles run from Adelaide and Goolwa to Cape Jervis and from Penneshaw to Kingscote.

Kangaroo Island Connect Ferry (not operating until 26th September 2020). KIC operates the fast passenger only ferry service between mainland, Cape Jervis, South Australia and Penneshaw Kangaroo Island.
This is the fastest, most comfortable and cheapest ferry to Kangaroo Island with each crossing taking only 30 minutes. The Kangaroo Island Connect ferry runs between Penneshaw and Cape Jervis (close to Aurora Ozone Hotel). Passengers are seated in luxury touring coach type seating, as far aft (back of the ferry) as possible. This reduces the likelihood of seasickness.
Kangaroo Island Connect also offers car rental, mini bus rental and campervan rental services on Kangaroo Island.

By Air
Regional Express Airlines (Rex) Rex services Kangaroo Island daily. The 30 minute flight operates between the main terminal at the Adelaide Airport and Kingscote Airport Kangaroo Island. Flight time is just over 30 minutes. Visit their website or phone 13 17 13.

QantasLink Offer flights to Kingscote Airport Kangaroo Island from both Adelaide, and Melbourne during December and January.
