  • The Oyster Farm Shop in American River: This is the place to enjoy some of the freshest oysters you’ll ever taste. The shop offers a range of seafood delights, including their famous Pacific oysters, abalone, and local fish, all caught around Kangaroo Island.
  • KI Fresh Seafoods in Kingscote: For a casual yet delicious seafood meal, head to KI Fresh Seafoods. They offer a variety of seafood options, including the renowned King George whiting, cooked to perfection.

Kangaroo Island is home to the world’s only pure strain of Ligurian bees, introduced from Italy in the 19th century. These bees produce a unique, high-quality honey known for its mild and aromatic flavours. Visitors can explore local apiaries, such as the Island Beehive, to learn about the importance of bee conservation and taste the exquisite honey, which is also used in a variety of local products, from cosmetics to culinary delights.

  • Island Beehive: An excursion to Island Beehive will give you insight into the fascinating world of beekeeping on Kangaroo Island. Enjoy a tour of the facilities, and don’t leave without trying their world-renowned Ligurian bee honey, available in various flavours and products. They also make a beautiful honey liqueur which we serve in our Zone Restaurant & Bar as an affogato.

  • Sunset Food and Wine: Overlooking the beautiful American River, this boutique restaurant focuses on local produce and seafood. The menu is a testament to the island’s rich culinary offerings, paired with stunning views. Open for summer from mid-December to late April/Early May each year. Opening Hours: Lunch: Tuesday – Saturday : 12:00-2:30; Dinner: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 18:00-22:00. During the New Year and Easter Holiday we will be open 7 days/week.
